Fax Machines . . . Obsolete?
____________
Are Fax machines, which are analog, quickly becoming obsolete? As far back as 9 years ago, businesses, government agencies and organizations of every kind were flocking to what is called "scan-to-email."
Scanning to email provides several advantages, mainly 1) speed, 2) quality images and 3) and "electronic" or "digital" record (image of the document saved to a storage media such as DVD, Hard Drive, etc). Although scanning to email has gained tremendous acceptance over the years, many organizations (ironically, mostly in the Financial Market!) still cling to an outdated, poor quality, inefficient technology - faxing.
Even when my sales teams hadto
sell fax machines, I personally used them as little as possible. To
this day I find myself cringing at someone's "demand" that I must "fax"
my documents.
Enter "Internet Fax." A service that you pay a monthly fee to send a document, via email, to a fax machine at the other end! With some services the process is extremely simple and effortless. With some Internet Fax Services, such as "Ring Central" for example, sending your documents to a fax machine is as easy as going to your email, keying in the fax number, attaching your documents and . . . your documents arrive at the receiving fax within seconds!
The nice thing about Internet Fax, other than no bulky analog machines sitting around collecting dust with their toner
"coagulating," is that you have "digital" copies (versus volumes
of paper!) of your documents, providing less clutter and greater efficiency.
If you want to make life easier, more efficient and less cluttered, then consider Internet Fax.
The only thing you may need is a scanner which typically is already an office fixture.
